MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
The Squankum Fire Company would like to thank you for your interest in volunteering. We welcome any and all volunteers who meet the following requirements:
ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must reside within the boundaries of the Howell Fire District No. 1 or Farmingdale Boro. Must NOT have a criminal record. Must have a valid New Jersey Driver’s License. Must be a certified Firefighter, or become certified within 1 year of joining. There are numerous other requirements, from internal policy training to a mandatory probationary membership term where you will be trained on ALL firefighting equipment. Attendance at Fire Company functions (work details, meetings, drills) is also required. Response to all calls 24 hours a day is typical, and required. Please contact us for more information.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must reside within the boundaries of the Howell Fire District No. 1 or Farmingdale Boro. Must NOT have a criminal record. There are numerous other requirements, from internal policy training to a mandatory probationary membership term where you will be trained on ALL firefighting equipment. JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP: Must be at least 14 years of age. Must reside within the boundaries of the Howell Fire District No. 1 or Farmingdale Boro. Must have written permission to join the Fire Company from at least 1 parent. Junior member applicant will be interviewed with parent(s). Junior members are NOT permitted to fight fire, and will NEVER be placed in a hazardous situation.

You will receive a phone call shortly with further instructions. Applications must be picked up in person at the firehouse on Tuesday nights from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.
